War Movies

Post by TinX143 » Sun May 01, 2016 3:01 pm

Hey guys,

I'm sick and stuck in bed for most of the day....so, I'm using this opportunity to catch up on movies and documentaries.

Could you guys suggest some good WAR films and/or documentaries?

New documentary on Netflix called 'Auschwitz'. Very impressive documentary about the creation of Auschwitz.

I found this documentary series a while back, it follows the adventures of the USS Enterprise from the beginning to the end of WW2 (Pacific Theater / USA vs IJN)

The World at War (1973)
Starring Adolf Hitler, Winston Churchill and Laurence Olivier
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071075/?ref_=nv_sr_1

I recommend this epic long and old documentary about WW2. Still the best there is and does not have reenactment but real footage and actually real WW2 veterans talking: big names like Dönitz, Galland and Speer. I give it 10/10 and it should be obligatory for DB members :P

Yes! I still have this documentary saved in my computer :P First time saw The World at War during the 90's when I borrowed all the VHSs from my high school history teacher :D This documentary has 10 minutes about Finland and its Winter War so that's already something! Usually that conflict is one of those forgotten battles (note to myself: need to open a topic Famous Historian Anssi teaches WW2: Lecture 1 Winter War 30.11.1939-13.3.1940)

Flight:WWII

It's on netflix and is a hilarious SyFy B rate movie about a modern airliner going through a time portal and winding up in alternate WWII or something. I regret dropping 5 bucks on it to this day.
